Community Breakfast
In the fall of 2014 The Rotary Club of Lantzville piloted a new program to assist homeless people in Nanaimo.  We begun working with the John Howard Society breakfast program. One Saturday each month we used the facilities provided by the 7 - 10 Club to feed from 200 to 400 people. It has been fun to work with a good group of people on this program and very rewarding to know that we are helping people who are truly in need. With great sponsors and partners like, the Salvation Army, Cross & Company and the Provincial Government, our club is able on every fourth Saturday of the month to cook and serve a healthy nutritious breakfast to those in need in the Nanaimo area at the Salvation Army's Hope Centre, downtown Nanaimo.   Troy DeJong has been the catalyst in the club to revive this club tradition after our 7-10 club breakfasts came to a conclusion in 2021, due to the loss of the 7-10 facility.
