Rotary Club members clean up on a District 5020 day of service.The Rotary Club of Lantzville members along with members from the other Rotary Clubs in the Nanaimo Area got together on Saturday April 23rd for a garbage clean up morning, as a part of a District wide day of service initiative and in honour of Earth Day. The five clubs spread out around Nanaimo to 20 different locations including the grassy and tree-lined area around the visitors centre kiosk on the Nanaimo Parkway at Northfield Rd. In the end together we collected up 920 kilos of garbage. As one of the Rotarians was quoted “One of the taglines for Rotary is ‘people of action’ so it’s really a way for us to get out in the community and help make our environment a little better and help clean up some of our favourite areas in Nanaimo.
