President's Message

Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Lantzville.  Our club has proudly served the local community in the Lantzville-Nanaimo-Nanoose region of Vancouver Island, Canada for over 35 years.  During this time we have constructed parks, playgrounds and various community facilities.  We have contributed to significant public facilities that make life in our community better and we have embraced the global community by taking on and supporting projects in Mexico, Africa, Nepal, the Philippines and India.

I am most proud of the work we have done on smaller projects that assist individuals in need.  Our members have been quick to step up to provide a helping hand to those facing life’s challenges.  We have supported people through medical crisis, engaged with young readers, supplied running shoes for children in need and provided breakfast for at risk individuals.

Our club is a hands-on club which has planted flowers, cleaned gardens, painted fences and decorated child care space.  We have cooked hamburgers, hot dogs and pancakes; hidden Easter eggs and gathered food for the needy.

Through all of these projects we have maintained a sense of fun and enjoyment.  Our club has developed a camaraderie through these work projects that is always evident in our meetings.

Members of the Rotary Club of Lantzville are committed to providing service to our community but to have fun while doing it.

In the upcoming year we will prioritize “Service above Self” as we strive to improve our community. In doing so, we will seek new partnerships and welcome new members.  Perhaps you can join us in our efforts!

Should you have the opportunity to attend one of our morning meetings, please do.  We are always delighted to welcome guests, be they members of other Rotary Clubs or individuals interested in our work.  But be warned:  once you experience the enjoyment we share, you might just find yourself wanting to be a part of it!
