The Rotary Club of Eagan, joined by presenting sponsor SPACES, will host the fourth annual Live to Give Walk at Eagan’s Central Park on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Funds raised will benefit nonprofits aimed at supporting the community and include South Metro Community Services, Pawsitivity Service Dogs for Veterans, Guild and the Eagan Rotary Foundation.

"The Live to Give Walk infuses excitement and camaraderie into an outdoor stroll with fellow community members,” said Karen Peterson, Chair of this year’s Live to Give Walk Committee. “We encourage teams spanning all ages to sign up, wear creative costumes and participate as we raise funds for some of our region’s most worthy charities."

The nonprofit recipients benefiting from funds generated by the Live to Give Walk include:

  • South Metro Community Services strives to connect individuals with substance use disorder to vital resources tailored to each person’s unique needs.
  • Pawsitivity Service Dogs for Veterans is a St. Paul-based nonprofit with a mission of providing service dogs to veterans with PTSD and other disabilities.
  • empowers those living with mental illness and/or experiencing long-term homelessness by helping them lead stable, fulfilling lives in their chosen community.
  • Eagan Rotary Foundation helps to support youth in the community with such programs as “Sherri’s Books” along with the annual Ethics Workshop for Eagan High School juniors and seniors.

Participants may register here and are invited to include family members, friends and neighbors to sign up. Peer to peer fundraising is encouraged along with creating a team theme and costumes to add to the fun-factor. Costumes will be judged and prizes will be awarded.

The 1.1 mile walking path in Eagan’s Central Park is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs and wagons. Check-in for the event is from 8 to 9 am, with the start time at 9 am, rain or shine.  A food truck from Hy-Vee with breakfast food ready for purchase will be available. Live music from local band Gus Sent Me will be featured at the Eagan Rotary Band Shell.
