Backpack Drive Helps Children in Need

Backpackers in Action:  Rotarians pitched in Aug. 30 to help Fairfax County firefighters fill backpacks with school supplies for needy kids.  McLean Rotarian Vance Zavela (far left) is pictured with Tysons Corner members David Danner, Glenn Rounsevell, Tony Rounds, Ingrid Parris-Hicklin, and Burt Heacock. The annual Backpack Drive, held at a fire station in Alexandria, is conducted by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Dept. with the help of many community volunteers.
