Rotary Club of Hartford

No. 21

Governor Dannel Malloy accepts a gift from President Stephen Vaughan for taking time out of his busy schedule to join over 65 Rotarians for lunch this past Monday.
If you were not there, you truly missed a great meeting.  The Governor spoke on items within the current budget process.  He spoke on the state’s transportation and infrastructure issues, and his plans to move our state forward.  He also spoke on healthcare, the XL Center, the new bill regarding freedom of the press.  He answered all questions that were asked.  He was kind enough to take a series of pictures with our leadership and Rotaract students.
What impressed me the most is he took the time to speak to every person in attendance and shook their hand.
We had three past district governors in attendance, Prasad Merion, of the Simsbury Rotary Club, Dick Kelley, of the South Windsor Rotary Club and Mike Barnett, of the Manchester Rotary Club.  We also had our incoming district governor, Kyong Wilson, of Bristol, CT, in attendance.  We had visiting Rotarians from Litchfield Club, Enfield Club, Waterbury Club, Bloomfield Club and the So Windsor club.  Our District was well represented which the Governor commented on.  I also want to thank our Hartford Rotarians for inviting their guests.  We also had our entire Rotaract Club in attendance, which Alexandria, gave us our invocation!
