THIS WEEK'S SPEAKER: Fred Horch, Climate Work Maine
Fred Horch is the co-founder of Spark Applied Efficiency, a mechanical contracting firm which has helped dozens of Maine businesses improve their operations to save money and achieve sustainability goals.He has extensive experience in the publishing, Internet and sustainability fields. He formerly served as general counsel for TriNet Services, an Internet consulting firm, helped launch the first statewide green electricity offer and established and operated a retail store called F.W. Horch Sustainable Goods & Supplies.
Fred has served on the board of the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program and is the President of the Rotary Club of Brunswick. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College, with concentrations in International Relations and Computer Science from Swarthmore College, and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.

Reminders of info from our meeting of November 7th....
LEADERS NEEDED: At our last in-person meeting, Bob Clark noted that each of the eight schools we recognize annually for our "Student of the Month" has a designated liaison. We are currently looking for a new point person for Baxter Academy.
Second, we’re also seeking someone to step into the role of Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) coordinator as Bill Ross transitions out. Bill has devoted many years to the program. Now we’re looking for the next leader to carry the torch.
BACKPACK SUPPLIES: We need items to fill backpacks that will in turn be distributed by the Portland Recovery Community Center.Click Here For Our ITEM SIGN UP SHEET.You will see the specific items we need, and you can decided what you would like to donate. This program is part of our club's Recovery Task Force, spearheaded by Jan Chapman and Niki Merrill. Substance use disorder (SUD) continues to be a persistent and urgent public health crisis in Maine. The goal of this project is to provide people beginning their recovery journey with toiletries and other personal items in backpacks.
TURKEY TIME: Thanksgiving is just a week away, and once again, we’ll be serving meals at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 26th. A sign-up link has gone out—grab a slot and join in the tradition. Need the link? THANKSGIVING SIGN UP
CLUB ASSEMBLY: Be sure to attend our very important Club Assembly which will be the focus of our Friday club meeting. It’s a chance to exchange ideas, and help shape our direction as a club. Come for the discussion, stay for the fellowship!
