THIS WEEK'S SPEAKER: Gregg Dowty, District Club Protection Officer - Things To Know!
Gregg Dowty is a member of the Rotary Club of Dover, NH. He has served as Club President, Assistant Governor, District Protection Officer and has currently taken on the role of District Trainer. Gregg has served on the District Recovery Initiative, The District Foundation Committee, the District Finance Committee, and recently, the Poland Exploratory Team.
Gregg is a retired public-school educator and former Executive Director of Good Will-Hinckley Homes for Boys and Girls in Maine, and The Children’s Home of Easton in Pennsylvania. Gregg holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Maine. He currently lives in South Berwick, and enjoys golf, bicycling, kayaking and fine wines and reading historical fiction/non-fiction.
BITS AND PIECES
MID-YEAR MUNCHIES: Members from Rotary Clubs throughout District 7780 met for a wonderful evening of both fellowship and good break-out group discussions at the annual "Mid-Year Dinner" last Thursday night. Held at Keeley's in Portland, some 80 Rotarians attended, hailing from Bethel to Portsmouth. The event was hosted by the District Governor Elect, Michele Bois-Gilbody of the Freeport Rotary. Our current Governor Emma Bodwell added in her weekly newsletter that "The fellowship, conversations, and shared vision made it a meaningful and motivating gathering. Moments like that remind us how strong our district is when we come together." Portland was represented by Dick Hall, Laura Young, Jerry and Katharine Wall and Tom Talbott.
