Tuck Barclay led the pledge to the flag, shown on the TV monitor, followed by Charlie Frair, who shared an EE Cummings poem about spring as our Invocation moment.
GUESTS: After lunch, Zach Newell introduced four guests. Tim and Mary Pat Donnellon, guests of Laura Young. Anne Gribbon and CoreyNaison, guests of Niki Curtis. We also had Assistant Governor Fran Bagdasarian visiting.
CARDS: David Patterson conducted the raffle, and it was Tuck Barclay with the honors of drawing the Queen of Hearts. However, Tuck went away empty-handed, and the pot continues to grow.
POLIO PLUS SOCIETY: Dick awarded a certificate of membership to the Polio Plus Society to Jon Young. Members of the society have committed to donating $100 per year to Polio Plus, until the world is declared polio free. With the current expectation that wild virus will be eliminated this calendar year, there is hope that we can declare the world polio free in 2025. (Photo: Jon Young)
TREES: Ellen Niewoehner talked about the tree planting down on Cove Street, Portland. She wanted to be sure all knew that the two dates will be Wed May 10 and Wed June 14. We will be planting 10 trees each day, so we need a good turnout. The rain dates will be the following Thursdays.
MUD SALE: Results are in, and we topped out at $1500 for our Charitable Fund. Not as much as last year, but still a good effort that will help others. Full report next club meeting!

“A seizure of a sizable amount of fentanyl led to the arrest of two people in Portland. Officials say the amount of fentanyl seized is large enough that it could kill the entire population of the city. Authorities say the seizure stemmed from a traffic stop Sunday night on Park Avenue.”
