THIS WEEK'S SPEAKER: Jordan King, Assistant Manager, SeaWeed Company
Jordan King will be our guest speaker this week. She is the Assistant Manager with the SeaWeed Co, a Maine owned Recreational/ Adult Use cannabis company with retail stores in Portland and South Portland.
Jordan was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland, and moved to Maine in 2017 to complete her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Ceramics from the Maine College of Art in 2019. She has worked now for 10 years as a Freelance Ceramicist in both the Maryland and Maine markets, and joined the SeaWeed Company in May 2020 full-time aas a Retail Associate, and is now Assistant Manager overseeing visual merchandising and event planning. Her experience in the field makes her an excellent resource to demystify the stigmas around cannabis. Her goal is to help people learn what an amazing substance cannabis is, provide information to help navigate the emerging industry,and empower people to give it a try.
Jordan enjoys singing, writing, roller skating, and pretty much anything that involves problem-solving.

PACK THE BACKPACKS: The Portland Rotary Recovery Task Force team thanks everyone who has generously donated to our Backpack Project! Your contributions have made a significant impact and will undoubtedly bring joy and support to those in need. Although progress has been made, Substance Use Disorder continues to be a public health crisis in Maine. The goal of this project is to provide people beginning their recovery journey with toiletries and other personal items in backpacks. If you haven't had a chance to contribute yet, there's still time to make a difference! We've decided to extend the donation deadline to December 9th! THANKSGIVING MEAL: Our Community Service arm flexed its muscle with another well-organized Thanksgiving Dinner serving at the St.Vincent De Paul Soup Kitchen. We have an estimate of 35 years of this event, and it is greatly appreciated by the kitchen staff. Photos say it all, and special thanks to Nannette Ranger-Duncanson for the planning, and to BIll Milliken stepping in as our Kitchen Manager. Great job, and thank you to all who participated.
COMMUNITY SERVICES: Zach Newell invites everyone interested in joining our Community Service Committee meeting this Friday at 11:30, before our club meeting. This will give us a chance to discuss upcoming community service events, identify and pursue additional opportunities, and help colleagues navigate oversight of longstanding projects.
