EPIC DAY OF SERVICE and SOCIAL:  A break from all this rain opened the door for a group of Rotarians to gather on the Eastern Prom, home of Justin Lamontagne, as the rendevous point for a Baxter Boulevard clean up effort. It started with a social gathering around "Fawn's Coffee & Food Truck" with baked good, breakfast sandwiches, and some double-shot expressos! After some good chatter, we headed out with our gloves and bags and proceeded to comb the area from the park to the bridge. Pretty good haul, and the photo below is just part of it. Citizens out enjoying the weather often stopped to thank us once they realized what we were doing. "Hearing people say, Thank You Rotary", feels good. So did the sun!  Thank you Justin for setting it up, and for all of our attendees, from both the Portland and our satellite Sunrise club.

FARMINGTON CENTENNIAL: On Saturday, Patty and Reid Byers celebrated in style at Farmington Rotary's centennial gala.  Established in 1925, Farmington Rotary has a long legacy of community service.  Congratulations, Farmington! Pictured here with Reid and Patty:  The granddaughter of Sumner P. Mills, a founding member of Farmington Rotary and first female member of the Club.

GOOD LUCK IN LUCCA: The Portland Rotary was well represented at the Lucca Italian Rotary club, with Larry Gross, Mike Fortunato, and Bruce Jones sharing their Maine hospitality with their Italian counterparts. Lucca is a city in Tuscany, central Italy. We'll see the guys soon and they can tell us more. Ciao!
