UNION, NJ - For 75 years, the Union Rotary Club has worked to improve the community, support humanitarian efforts and encourage high ethical standards in business and professional fields. The club was founded on December 7, 1941 and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Roselle-Roselle Park. The first President was Franklin Hardcastle who served from December 1941 to June 30,1943.

Current Club president Laura Bretzger recently announced plans to celebrate the occasion in February at the Galloping Hill Inn. It is a very special year for the club as Union Rotarian Charlie Minton is serving as Governor for District 7510 in Central New Jersey, The Capital District.

Projects such as the Annual Eloquence Soiree which honors Union High School student winners of the Marvin Orella Speech Contest; Automobilia Night at the Museum event to benefit the local community:
distribution of dictionaries to local third graders; establish and maintain the Rotary Park at Union Center; are just a few of the causes which the local Rotary club members are dedicated to year round.

The Rotary Club of Union also participates in humanitarian, educational and cultural programs that positively impact people's lives int the Township of Union, as well as the global community of Union through service to youth, civic promotion, scholarship programs and contributions to local community organizations.

The club welcomes any member of the community who might like to join our group in putting "Service above Self". Meetings are held every Thursday at the Suburban Country Club at 12:15. The Union Rotary Club was very excited to have students from Kean’s University’s Rotaract and Union High School’s Interact club to help with the evenings festivities.  The Union Rotary is grateful for the opportunity to challenge and reward the fine students of Union High School and thanks the community for lending its support of this cause.
