I am the co-owner of two contract maintenance companies here in Toronto: Interior Care and ServiceNational Canada. They provide a variety of services for corporate offices, condominiums and retail stores across Canada.
Outside business, I enjoy serving in the community to hopefully, make it a better place. This year I am honoured to be back as President of The Rotary Club of North York, a position I first held back in 2003-2004. I guess you could say I'm hoping to get it right this time. My wife Elisabeth and I are also the co-founders and directors of The Sanfilippo Children’s Research Foundation. I'm also a former Board member of The Canadian MPS Society.
I've been honoured with several industry, community service and humanitarian awards, including The ICS Ralph Bloss Humanitarian Award,  The Toronto Marathon Human Spirit Award, The Floorcovering Institute of Ontario’s first Humanitarian and Industry Leadership Award and Sri Aathi Hindu Temple’s Community Service and Humanitarian Award. One of my biggest honours was receiving Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellowship Award, in 2005.
Over most of my lifetime, I've invested in the lives of young people through various Christian ministries, including Youth Groups and College and Careers. I taught Sunday School for 20 years, and lead a weekly bible study in my home. I've also been a coach to young leaders through a program called Launch, a ministry of Youth Unlimited. For over 22 years, my wife Elisabeth and I have led The Sanfilippo Children’s Research Foundation, a volunteer organization that has raised over $8 million for Sanfilippo medical research. In October 2016, my youngest child, Elisa, passed away from Sanfilippo disease, a rare terminal illness.
My hobbies include downhill sking, running, biking, reading, writing, golf, hockey, travel, and watching movies. My greatest joy however, is spending time anywhere with my family, especially at our cottage in Haliburton and our home on the Gulf coast of Florida. I was born and raised in Toronto, a city I love, and a place I've lived all my life.
Elisabeth and I have two adult children and are the proud grandparents of two grand daughters.
