ATI Physical Therapy and the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor North are proud to present the first annual Phil Zepeda Invitational Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 30 at the Polo Fields Golf and Country Clubs, 2955 Packard Road, Ypsilanti.  The Martin Family Foundation has graciously agreed to sponsor the luncheon and the dinner is sponsored by Phil Zepeda of Raymond James and Jeff Crause of Edward Jones. Peg Windsor, Abbey Park at Mill River and Key Bank are also sponsors this year.  There are a just a handful of sponsorship opportunities available, better grab one 'cause this group moves quickly!

The Early Bird deadline is quickly approaching: Registrations and payments received by April 30 will automatically be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to Miles of Golf in Ann Arbor.

Registration for the event opens at 8:00 am with a shotgun start at 9:00 am and includes 18 holes of golf with a hot dog, chips and soft drink at the turn. The steak dinner honoring Phil Zepeda takes place at approximately 2:00 pm and individual dinner tickets are available for $45 per person. Fun and fellowship also includes great prizes and a 50/50 raffle and your donations of gifts and services are welcomed and appreciated.

Fees are $100 per player with a package deal of $500 for your team of four and a hole sponsorship - a savings of $50.

Flyers and brochures are available at our meetings and are also available for download through the documents section of our Club Runner website. The committee would also be happy to mail flyers to friends, family, neighbors, vendors and fellow golfers at your request.  For more information or to provide mailing addresses for direct mail, please contact Matt Copeland at (734) 674-9327, via email to matt.copeland@comcast.net or fax to (734) 487-6355.
At our April board meeting, the board approved the membership application of Robert Sprecht and we are presenting him as a candidate to our membership.  The review and comment period opens today (April 22) and will close on May 6. A brief bio on our potential new Rotarian will appear in next week's newsletter.

In other business, we agreed to continue our support of the Boy Scouts Huron Trails District with a $2500 donation. As a result of our contribution, we are covering the costs of 14 youth for outdoor and leadership programming in addition to underwriting costs for local camps, camp scholarships and the professional staff dedicated to scouting programs.

We also agreed to return as sponsors to the JRDF One Walk in Ann Arbor on Sunday, October 4 at the Hudson Mills Metropark. Our $1000 contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the McKinley Corporation putting us at the $2000 sponsorship level. The overall goal for the walk is $1,000,000 and I am confident they will accomplish this as they surpassed their 2014 goal of $730,000 by $90,000.

Finally, we agreed to underwrite the cost ($250) to sponsor one youth exchange student attending this year's District Conference. If you are able to attend this year's conference, the program presented by the students on Saturday night is usually the highlight of the weekend.

These contributions would not be possible without the support of YOU, our members. Our 'lunch bunch' changes lives and invests in the future of our community locally and internationally and we are grateful that you are a member of the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor North.

IT's not too late to register for all or part of the conference! We encourage all members to attend dinner on Saturday evening. Online registration is closed but you can make arrangements for your attendance by calling  Wendee Haugh at 248-670-7775
