Welcome back from summer fun and vacations and Happy Fall!

Let's recap a few things that have happened so far.  In July we had our changing of the guard and the Presidential gavel passed on to yours truly.  I gave my Presidential power point as to what to expect for the year in regards to theme, District and Club goals.

August was a busy month The first week of August we helped make and distribute lunches for the Nazareth Summer Lunch Program provided by the ministries. August 16 was the Strike Out Hunger Phillies game. My family and I had a great time cheering on the Phillies and applauding with a warm hometown welcome to Chase Utley.  By the way, he hit two home runs to help the LA Dodgers beat our Phils.  The event helped raise about $3,000 towards the foundation. On August 30 our very own District Governor Linda Young payed our club a visit. Let's all be a Shining Star to give Service to Humanity.

I am happy to say that we are busy planning our Citrus Sale for this Fall/Winter. Information and order forms will be out soon.

October 22 is our District's Purple Pinkie 5K Fun Run/Walk at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville.  All proceeds go towards Polio eradication.  This year our club is a sponsor and you may sign up for the event at www.purplepinkie.net. Let's have a nice Nazareth Rotary Club representation and show our support.

October 29 is District 7430 Foundation Seminar at Montgomery County Community College. This is open to all but highly encouraged for President Elects, Vice Presidents, and Foundation Chair.  The registration site is https://www.eventbrite.com/e/-district-7430-rotary-foundation-seminar-tickets27656220500.

Another important date is November 12. Please mark you calendar for Scouting for Food.  We will be helping collect and weigh food for this event.  Also, this is the date for our District's Rotary Leadership Institute at Bucks County Community College in Newtown.  Go to rlinea.org for the complete schedule or to register go to http://rlinea.org/event/newtown--pa-%28%29/

Reminder, every third Tuesday of the month is our fun at 5:30 social meeting at Buffalo Wild Wings located at 3798 Dryland Way in front of Wegmans.

I look forward to having lots of fun this year planning new activities, doing service, and enjoying fellowship.

Yours In Service to Humanity

Brian Hartlaub

If you are looking for a fun Rotary Service opportunity, the Greater Valley YMCA has invited all local Rotarians to help  provide a healthy lunch for 500 summer day campers on July 16 at the Nazareth Boro Park under the pavilion during the Greater Valley Y Field Day.  Volunteers are needed  to help serve and seat the campers. Volunteers need to arrive no later than 11:15am to start serving at 11:30am.  Your volunteer role should be concluded by 12:30pm at which time you can enjoy some lunch too!  If you wish to either volunteer, please respond to Lyndsey Frigm at lyndseyfrigm@greatervalleyymca.org by Monday, June 13th.
