This is a special event to promote the Garden of Health's new warehouse, thanks to grants and contributions. |

Carol Bauer has some very exciting news. The foundation has rented a warehouse for deliveries and storage of tractor trailer loads of donated foods. Carol can finally have her house back and not have to run the operation/storage out of it! Congrats to The Garden of Health!
Our "big check" made out to the Garden for our club's donations/grants of about $13,000 will be on site and presented to Carol and Chuck from our club that morning for the photo session. The meeting will take place at 8 AM, with social distancing and masks of course! A ZOOM meeting will also be available for anyone not able to attend in person.
Carol's other exciting news was that the Commonwealth of PA has awarded "the garden" $128K of grant funds which will be used to purchase a new van, a refrigerated truck, and a "plate jack". Congratulations to Carol and her team for a job well done! |

Montgomery County Commissioners
Sep. 23, 2020
Dr. Valerie Arkoosh was elected as Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners on November 17, 2016, succeeding former Commission Chair Josh Shapiro. In November 2015, Dr. Arkoosh won election to a full four-year term and served as Commission Vice Chair until her election as Chair. Through her significant leadership of managing complex organizations in crisis, Dr. Arkoosh has brought innovative reforms to county governance while ensuring an effective, transparent, and fiscally responsible government. Most recently, Dr. Arkoosh has been at the forefront of mobilizing testing, health, public information, and other resources and services during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency. She has also led the efforts to eliminate street homelessness of veterans, streamline delivery of human services, combat the opioid overdose epidemic, increase repairs for County roads and bridges, and new miles of trails and open space across the County. As a resident of Montgomery County, Dr. Arkoosh brings a wealth of knowledge and vital skillset to the Board. Kenneth E. Lawrence Jr., was appointed by the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas to the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners to fill out the term of newly-elected Attorney General Josh Shapiro. On February 2, 2017, he was elected as Vice Chair of the Board of the Commissioners. An avid health advocate and user and promoter of the County’s parks and trails, he was the second person countywide to complete the Montco Trail Challenge. Commissioner Lawrence was elected to serve as Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Elections on March 16, 2017 and works closely with community leaders and organizations to ensure fair and safe elections. As Chair, he led County efforts to institute the new voter-marked paper ballot voting system in 2019. In 2020, Lawrence has led efforts to recruit poll workers
