The Morning Star Rotary "Green Team" will be meeting via Zoom this week on Wednesday, August 28 at 7:00 PM. Anyone interested in attending please contact Rick Morrissey at rjmorrissey16@gmail.com for the Zoom link for the meeting.
Morning Star Rotary welcomed District 7430 Governor Katie Farrell for her official visit to our club this past Thursday, August 22, 2024. She was introduced by our area AG, Kathy Heller. DG Katie spoke to our members about this year's Rotary theme, "The Magic of Rotary", The Rotary Foundation, and outlined her goals and those of the district as we move ahead to serve our communities and the world as People of Action.

Morning Star Rotary's Exchange Student for the 2024-2025 school year, Antek from Poland, arrived safe and sound on Sunday, August 18th (see photo - he's the one in the blazer). Antek and our MSR Justin, his in-country Counselor, already met up! It sounds like his English is quite good and he's settling in nicely with his host family.
He'll be joining our meetings once in awhile, but the magic of the exchange experience happens during meetups with YOU, living your best lives!
The goal is that he hang out with members at least once per month. Activities you could invite him to include meals at your home, games, tours, shows, jaunts on your yacht (include me please LOL!), gatherings for other groups you're involved with, family parties, etc.
We also are hoping a few of you can be available to drive him to some of the district activities he's required to attend, to give his host family a break. Plus the car rides are a great opportunity for us to get to know him. (Note that federal law says if you're alone with a minor, you need clearances, but if it's the minor and at least two other people you do not need clearances.)
Join us for the Rotary District 7430 "Race to Zero - Let's End Polio." This is a family-friendly event! We have a chip-timed 5k Run, a 5k Walk, and a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. The race begins at Simmons Elementary School in Horsham and runs along the Horsham Powerline Trail. The race will take place rain or shine. We also offer a virtual option (no race shirt) to complete a distance of your choice and help support this cause.
