We will gather this Thursday, June 6 at Artisan Wine Bar for our monthly Rotary Means Business networking meeting.   For two years our club has been meeting in this alternative format.   Many of the newer members to the club first attended this evening meeting, which provides an informal setting to get to know each other and Rotary.  If you look around our Rotary world, this format has become a standard way to encourage and strengthen the fellowship of Rotary.  I encourage you to invite your business colleagues, friends or neighbors and attend to discover all that Rotary has to offer. 

 

Rotary International has been a strong supporter of peace building since its founding days and continues with Peace Fellowships, Peace Centers, Peace Forums, and the Project Focus Area on Peace and Conflict Resolution among other efforts.  Rotary people exchanges have involved well over 100,000 people and are an outstanding cornerstone of our effort to increase world understanding and peace. 

 

Almost everyone, everywhere wants a more peaceful world.  Rotary is superbly situated to leverage our commitment to peace to drive peacemaking in the world like we have driven polio eradication.  Leading thinkers believe war could end in this century and Rotary could play a major role. 

 

Jim Palmquist has dedicated his efforts to spreading the Rotary word on building peace everywhere. His presentation will be very enlightening and thought provoking.
