President's Message 5-21-19
President Message
Came across this on my Facebook this past week. Just thinking ...... seems a lot of work we do in Rotary might fit these grand essentials!?

Meeting 5/16/2019
(Facebook Post by Shawn Deiter)
Talk.Read.Sing.jpg
Our appreciation goes out to Karen Rose, Early Childhood Coalition member/community volunteer, and Akshara Vivekananthan, assistant director of early childhood education & summer learning for United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, for the introduction to the Talk, Read, Sing campaign. This literacy initiative aims to help families and caregivers enrich their child’s early brain and vocabulary development through simple, every day actions.

Yours in Rotary Service,
Plan-it Janet

THE LIFE OF MILLARD

Please join us Thursday morning for what should be an interesting and entertaining classification from one of our newest members, Millard Cook.

We look forward to hearing more from the man who is always behind a camera!

See you Thursday, May 23rd!
AUDREY RAFFERTY MEMORIAL SPAGHETTI DINNER
Our “ARM funraiser” was enjoyed by many people once again. The food was excellent as many guests expressed enthusiasm for “Butch’s Sauce”!

Thank you to all the Morning Star Rotarians who were “the inspiration.” Thank you to the Victory House team which once again provided great support. Chair Val Walk planned and executed a great event for our club. The whole team did a great job!

REMINDER
As you often hear, the job is not finished until the paperwork is done. If you have not as yet submitted payment for your tickets, please bring to this Thursday's meeting. Chair Val and Treasurer Jean will both be available and will be happy to collect your funds.
Thanks to all for a great time.
ROTARY FOUNDATION ANNUAL SUPPORT

You have each received an email from the District explaining our status in relation to the District Annual Fund Goal for this year. Please revisit that email and consider how we continue to build and do good in the world.

If you have already donated to The Rotary Foundation since July 1, 2018, we thank you. If not, we would appreciate your consideration of donating to The Rotary Foundation by the end of May so Morning Star Rotary can once again achieve 100% participation and continue our support of this wonderful program. The Rotary Foundation is annually reported as one of the top non-profit foundations in the world.

Just a reminder, MSR has been successful in obtaining over $13,000+ in matching grant funds for our Grant project with Victory House for the next Rotary year. This is the largest grant award from the District for this year. These funds come back to the clubs only through your continued support of the Annual Fund.

Ways to donate:

Mail a check payable to The Rotary Foundation to Tom Hartzell 1341 Biafore Avenue Bethlehem PA 18017

Contribute at the $2/week at the Sign-In Table

Donate on-line at the Rotary Foundation.

Thank you.

Every dollar you contribute will help us to continue to do good in our communities and in the world.

Please forward your donation to Tom Hartzell by June 1 to ensure inclusion in this Rotary Year.

Thank you.
