January was National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. We were fortunate to have a special presentation with Amelia Stansell - Rotary Club of Warrenton VA. Reference last week's Bulletin for the extensive bio intro on how Amelia became a passionate advocate against Human Trafficking. Highlights of her presentation included significant statistics on one of the biggest challenges facing us as people of the world. Estimates of the annual dollar volume driving Human Trafficking exceed $150 billion per year. Estimates on prevention funding are only $320 million spent annually! The number of "slaves" in the world is over 40.3 million...more than the population of Canada! Amelia suggests going to the Rotary Facebook Zone pages for more information and updates. Her powerpoint presentation can be accessed in the Download section of the MSR website. Recommend you view with the notes as this will provide most of the relevant commentary from Amelia.
