President's Message 2-19-19
In 2016 the Charlotte & Tore Hartmann-Hansen Community Grant (HH Grant) was established by our club.  The grant, awarded annually to honor Charlotte & Tore's dedication to the work of Rotary, will continue their legacy of impact locally & globally.

On Valentine's Day we celebrated the generosity of Charlotte & Tore to insure the legacy of this grant, with the  PDG Tore & Charlotte Hartmann-Hansen Endowment Fund through The Rotary Foundation and the Tore & Charlotte Hartmann-Hansen Fund for Bethlehem Morning Star Charitable Organization through the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.  Proceeds from these two permanent funds will match an additional 50% of the award given annually through the HH Grant.

District Governor Cindy Hornaman also joined us to recognize Charlotte & Tore for achieving The Rotary Foundation - Major Donor Level 4

Our dear MSR friends certainly are an inspiration to us all!

Yours in Rotary Service,
Plan-it Janet

AREA 2 OUTREACH FOOD PROJECT
Area 2 Rotary Clubs (Bethlehem, Bethlehem Morning Star, Easton, Nazareth and Saucon Valley) will come together March 9th at Moravian College's Haupert Union Building in the 'Ole Moravian College BookShop' - lower level left - along with friends, family members, students, colleagues, young professionals and Victory House residents. Working with Michele and Bobby Polito from The Outreach Program, the Rotary Community Team will package 40,000 meals for families in need in our Club areas.

Food Insecurity is a serious concern in all communities, no matter the demographics of the areas. With the help of a matching $5,000 District Grant, the 40,000 meals, with increased variety, will match what was accomplished last year. The end products are shared to food pantries throughout the Area 2 Rotary Clubs as determined by each club.  A fantastic effort with lots of fellowship and sharing.
True to the Rotary Theme - BE THE INSPIRATION.
Be sure to WATCH your email for sign-up opportunities.

This service opportunity project is open to all who share the Inspiration of SERVICE ABOVE SELF!  What better way to get "hands on" and learn about Rotary while helping our communities.

Many thanks to our own Jim Santanasto for another wonderful experience.

"Costumes for a Cause" Important Info
Your $50 ticket for celebrating the FUN in fundraising at the Foundation Gala "Costumes for a Cause," on March 23, 2019 includes dinner (choice of chicken, beef or vegetarian) and dancing. There will be opportunity to bid on silent auction baskets and participate in the 50/50 raffle.  Cash bar too!

Why costumes?  What a great way to show your "inner Rotarian!"  Be creative and have fun expressing your passion for Rotary. Not "into" wearing a costume - why not wear some Rotary "swag?" Or, do you like to dress up for Rotary events? Wear your tuxedos and tiaras.

If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to email, text or call DGN Janet (484-241-1252.)
