OUTREACH FOOD PROJECT  NEEDS YOU NOW!!!
Rotarians, Family, Friends and other Volunteers,

The time to step up is now. This is our Area 2 project where we collaborate to produce 40,000 meals for the food insecure in our area communities. The event is Saturday March 9th at the Moravian College Haupert Student Union Building at 1119 Monocacy St. (the same building as last year).

Signup/registration can be easily done by clicking on the link below.  Club members can simply pick your shift(s) one at a time, click "Myself", add your cell #, Save, and you're done!

Or ANYONE (all ages of family, friends, co-workers students (receive community service credits) and potential Rotarians) can click AREA 2 OUTREACH FOOD PROJECT UNDER Upcoming Events on the right side of this page and click the box Rotary Food Packaging Event 2019. This takes you directly to the sign up lists.

Sat. March 9th is rapidly approaching. We need participation commitment ASAP.  Reach out beyond Rotary. This is one great opportunity to show Rotarians working with the community.

John Oesmann (973-479-3146) or myself, Ron Searfoss (rsearfos@ptd.net; 610-504-1460) will be happy to sign up anyone with the enthusiasm to help others and have great fellowship in the process.

WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW.

Thank you!

MONOCACY FARM PROJECT
Did you know we have an apple orchard, community gardens, production fields, and demonstration gardens right here in our own Bethlehem backyard?

The Monocacy Farm Project is a 10-acre organic farm on Bridle Path Road in Bethlehem. Many thanks to Amy Baringer and Bob Drake for introducing Morning Star Rotary to this agricultural gem. The farm provides fruits & veggies to area food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters; educational workshops for children and adults; and a "Pick-Your-Own" program for families to harvest their own organic produce.

Special thanks for the presentation and to our own Shawn Dieter for bringing this “gem” to our attention!
President's Message 3-04-19
You may remember this American Express slogan from back in the 90s - "membership has its privileges." It meant that if you paid the annual fee to have an Amex card, there were benefits to be had.  As you gaze through this Bulletin - you will see the many, many benefits to your membership in Bethlehem Morning Star.   This includes volunteer opportunities for our club service projects and fundraising events, fellowship with friends at the District Conference and other events, and learning more about the world at the Lehigh UN day in April. I encourage you to take advantage of as many of the opportunities as your schedule permits.  We are truly privileged to be members of Rotary.

Yours in Rotary Service,
Plan-it Janet

"Costumes for a Cause" Important Info
CLARIFICATION - COSTUMES ARE OPTIONAL!
What is important is your participation and support of our Foundation. Please join in a wonderful night of fellowship and celebration.

Your $50 ticket for celebrating the FUN in fundraising at the Foundation Gala "Costumes for a Cause," on March 23, 2019 includes dinner (choice of chicken, beef or vegetarian) and dancing. There will be opportunity to bid on silent auction baskets and participate in the 50/50 raffle.  Cash bar too!

Why costumes?  What a great way to show your "inner Rotarian!"  Be creative and have fun expressing your passion for Rotary. Not "into" wearing a costume - why not wear some Rotary "swag?" Or, do you like to dress up for Rotary events? Wear your tuxedos and tiaras.

If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to email, text or call DGN Janet (484-241-1252.)
