Last Thursday we had the pleasure of presenting the $3,000 Hartmann-Hansen Grant for 2019 to the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem. There to receive the check was Winston Alozie, new CEO of BGC since September, 2019. Winston gave an excellent presentation on the history of the organization. What they do Everyday… Safe place to go after school. Programming focused on experiential and social-emotional learning. 5 core program areas: wellness, education, character, culture & recreation. Instill values and respect. Meet basic needs (additional food and clothing) Provide Homework help, activities and hot meals Tuesdays through Saturdays during the school year The Grant funding was needed to upgrade the fire suppression system for the new stove recently installed. They prepare daily hot meals for the children. |
