On August 28, 2025, Morning Star Rotary welcomed Jennifer Topp from Lehigh University who spoke about the College of Health that was established at Lehigh in 2020. She discussed the college's focus on population health rather than clinical health, explaining that they study factors affecting health beyond genetics and cells, such as environment, culture, and socioeconomic status. She highlighted the college's interdisciplinary approach, with faculty working in areas including medical operations, biostatistics, health policy, and engineering, and mentioned specific research projects like studying trash pickup's impact on health and providing clean water in humanitarian settings. Jennifer also described the college's four undergraduate majors: Population Health, Biostatistics and Health Data Science, and Community and Global Health. |
