Stories
ROTARY MEANS BUSINESS FIRST THURSDAY

Our First Thursday returns to the Artisan Wine & Cheese September 2, 5:30 - 7:00 pm. We will have be playing The Game of Rent to give the Club an overview of how the game works prior to the big event in October. Enjoy happy hour fellowship, along with an open discussion about the game and affordable housing in the Lehigh Valley.

The Wine & Cheese coupled with the assortment of hors d oeuvres is very appealing and tastes great! You can tell from the picture above it has been quite a long time since we have been at the Artisan!

See you there!
AUG 26, 2021 KENYA GLOBAL GRANT PROJECT (Zoom)
This past Thursday, Wendy Ellsworth and Donna Holton of the Saucon Center Valley Rotary shared an inspirational story about their work on the Kenya Global Grant Project in Manyatta Zebra, Kenya.  The project thus far includes building latrines in 7 villages and holding a health fair for over 400 people.  Please click  zoom_0.mp4 to view the presentation.

As our Rotary Vision Statement calls us to "take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves" this project provides an opportunity to make a difference globally.  I am looking for a few other Morning Star Rotarians that will join me on a team to partner with the Saucon Center Valley group working to bring a global grant project to fruition.

If you are interested please join us this Thursday morning to learn more:

AUG 19, 2021 NORTH PENN GOLD STAR MOTHERS

Rhonda Worthington, President

NORTH PENN GOLD STAR MOTHERS (LIVE)

North Penn Gold Star Mothers (Live)

Our organization, American Gold Star Mothers, Inc is a National nonprofit, nonpolitical, and nondenominational 501(c) 3 Veterans Service Organization, founded in Washington, DC, in 1928, chartered by the United States Congress.  Members are Mothers, whose Children made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country or died as a result of that service.
Throughout our Country, much of the service and fellowship happens at the chapter level.  Our Chapter, North Penn, was granted our Charter on May 6th, 1945.  Our members are Moms from Montgomery, Bucks, Northampton, and Philadelphia Counties.  Our Mission: Honoring the memory of our Hero Children through service.  We strive to serve and support our Veterans, Active Duty Military, and their families, our communities by promoting service to our Country, teaching lessons of patriotism, inspiring respect for our Country, and supporting all Gold Star families.  We also raise funds for various nonprofit organizations that support our Active Duty Military who are in need.  We stand tall and proud honoring our Children, assisting our Veteran, supporting our Nation, and healing with each other.

Representing the Gold Star Mothers were Rhonda Worthington, President of North Penn Gold Star Mothers and Helen Seifert of Bethlehem, Aunt of our Rodney Seifert. Their sons were Eric Shellenberger and Chris Seifert who both lost their lives in service to their country.

Gold Star Mothers are fully engaged in helping those who have served and continue to serve through many local projects and partnerships. For those looking to help and say thank you to our service men and women, you are invited to attend the North Penn Gold Star Golf Outing at Wedgewood Golf course Saturday, Sepotember 11th.  Information click: http://northpenngoldstargolfouting.org

A pretty special day to honor everyone serving or have served in all capacities.
