Our organization, American Gold Star Mothers, Inc is a National nonprofit, nonpolitical, and nondenominational 501(c) 3 Veterans Service Organization, founded in Washington, DC, in 1928, chartered by the United States Congress. Members are Mothers, whose Children made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country or died as a result of that service.
Throughout our Country, much of the service and fellowship happens at the chapter level. Our Chapter, North Penn, was granted our Charter on May 6th, 1945. Our members are Moms from Montgomery, Bucks, Northampton, and Philadelphia Counties. Our Mission: Honoring the memory of our Hero Children through service. We strive to serve and support our Veterans, Active Duty Military, and their families, our communities by promoting service to our Country, teaching lessons of patriotism, inspiring respect for our Country, and supporting all Gold Star families. We also raise funds for various nonprofit organizations that support our Active Duty Military who are in need. We stand tall and proud honoring our Children, assisting our Veteran, supporting our Nation, and healing with each other.
Representing the Gold Star Mothers were Rhonda Worthington, President of North Penn Gold Star Mothers and Helen Seifert of Bethlehem, Aunt of our Rodney Seifert. Their sons were Eric Shellenberger and Chris Seifert who both lost their lives in service to their country.
Gold Star Mothers are fully engaged in helping those who have served and continue to serve through many local projects and partnerships. For those looking to help and say thank you to our service men and women, you are invited to attend the North Penn Gold Star Golf Outing at Wedgewood Golf course Saturday, Sepotember 11th.
