THIS WEEK'S SPEAKER
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

MSR Rotarians:

Summer is here and I hope you’re all enjoying it. There are several opportunities this summer for fun and fellowship. As you saw in a recent flyer, the Rotary Clubs of Area 2 are combining for a picnic on August 23 from 12 noon to 3 pm at the Bethlehem Township Municipal Park. We will not be having our usual kick-out party this summer, so I invite you and your family to join us for a picnic in the park. We are also asking that you sign up for the event and indicate a covered dish you will be bringing and to get a sense for how many will be joining us. We will also be cancelling our August 21 meeting.

We will also be holding the Celtic Classic 5k and will be kicking off the parade as we did last year. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Tom Hartzell is coordinating the event. Look for more information to come.

For those who may have taken part in helping Bob Hobaugh at last year’s Das Awkscht Fescht, Bob is looking for some help in the vendor set up and parking for this year’s festival. If you’re interested, please reach out to Bob to let him know.

Yours in Rotary,

Rodney Conn
President

"STATE OF THE CLUB" ADDRESS

As the new Rotary year commences, at our July 17, 2025 meeting, Rodney Conn addressed the club as he begins his second year as Morning Star Rotary President.  Club activities and goals were reviewed, with emphasis on membership retention, community involvement, and the need for volunteer assistance in addressing food insecurity and other social issues. The discussion concluded with plans for improving organizational efficiency through better communication, resource sharing, and the onboarding of new members, along with upcoming events and opportunities for community engagement.
