Dear Rotarian, I am hopeful you are staying safe and healthy during this challenging time. I am writing to share with you the 2019 Annual Report for ShelterBox USA, which highlights the global work that your support enabled in 2019. Because of you, families now have a place to call home, the ability to self-recover, and hope for a better future. Within the report, you will find information on our 2019 deployments, stories of impact from the beneficiaries that received ShelterBox aid, and detailed financial information for the 2019 fiscal year. ShelterBox USA is committed to transparency, accountability, and measuring the impact this work has on the displaced families and communities that we serve. We strive to operate in the most effective and efficient ways possible. While we recognize the achievements and accomplishments of the last year, the global pandemic we are all experiencing is a constant reminder of the fundamental importance of home to our health, safety, and wellbeing. Right now, we are scaling our shelter responses, working even harder with our partners around the world to provide displaced families, most at risk of being devastated by the COVID-19 virus, with the emergency shelter they need. ShelterBox is also adapting our aid, including soap and wash basins for hygiene, family kitchen sets to reduce the need to share, as well as providing tents and tarpaulins to support social distancing.
