In 2017, Morning Star Rotary started a relationship with Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.  That Rotary year we received a district grant to fund a number of projects at the school.  In November we were privileged to hear more about TJ Elementary from Principal, Tracey Hirner.  This Thursday we will have a wonderful opportunity to learn more about TJ, experience a student meal and see the projects and equipment supported by the district grant.  This will also be an opportunity to explore developing our relationship further.
 
We will be collecting our $10 meeting fee and donating it to the meal program.  So bring a cup of coffee along and let's meet at TJ Elementary, 404 E. North St, Bethlehem.  The school doors will be open starting at 7:15am.  (If there is a 2 hour delay, Principal Tracey has confirmed that they will still be ready for us.  Of course, if school is canceled we will not meet.)

"Costumes for a Cause" Important Info
Your $50 ticket for celebrating the FUN in fundraising at the Foundation Gala "Costumes for a Cause," on March 23, 2019 includes dinner (choice of chicken, beef or vegetarian) and dancing. There will be opportunity to bid on silent auction baskets and participate in the 50/50 raffle.  Cash bar too!
 
Why costumes?  What a great way to show your "inner Rotarian!"  Be creative and have fun expressing your passion for Rotary. Not "into" wearing a costume - why not wear some Rotary "swag?" Or, do you like to dress up for Rotary events? Wear your tuxedos and tiaras.

If you go to the Morning Star Website, you will see the current full list of over 13 events covering all the way through the District Governor Changeover on June 24. The official vote took place at the club meeting on January 3, 2019. The slate of Officers and Directors for the Rotary year 2019-20 was unanimously approved as submitted:

IF the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) CLOSES schools,

then the Morning Star Rotary meeting is CANCELLED.

If BASD just DELAYS school opening, our meeting will be HELD AS USUAL.
