HAPPY SUMMER!
Summer is officially here, which means many of us are squeezing in family vacations, weekends “down the Shore,” backyard barbecues, and a little extra sunshine whenever we can get it. But while the calendar may slow down a bit, Rotary certainly doesn’t.
This time of year is always a reminder of how much our Club accomplishes behind the scenes, even between beach trips and summer schedules. In the coming weeks, we’ll gather for one of our favorite traditions: our annual Changeover Dinner. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, thank those who have stepped up to lead and serve, and look ahead to everything still to come. This year, Clint is hosting a potluck at his house (and smoking a Texas-style BBQ Brisket!) Email Kate Harper to RSVP!
We’ll also once again be manning the beer tents at the Ambler Arts & Music Festival, one of the biggest community events of the summer — and an important fundraiser for our Club. Events like this don’t just help us raise money; they help fund the grants, scholarships, and service projects that make a real impact throughout our community all year long.
Summer is also the season when we prepare for one of our most impactful programs of the year: STEM YEA! This year’s program is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever, with expanded programming, incredible volunteers from organizations like Tower Health and Engineers Without Borders, and more than 65 students already registered. As always, we’ll need plenty of helping hands to make it all happen, so please consider volunteering and being part of an experience that truly makes a difference for these kids.
So as summer gets underway, I encourage everyone to stay involved, pitch in where you can, and enjoy the good work we do together. Rotary runs on fellowship, service, and participation — and there’s always room for one more set of helping hands.
Yours in Rotary,
Tara
