Mandela Washington Fellowship at Lehigh University

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. government's Young African Leaders Initiative (YAL).  Since 2014, nearly 3,700 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa have participated in the Fellowship.  The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished innovators and leaders in their communities and countries.  This year, a total of 700 fellows will partcipate in the in the US program held at 27 universities.  Lehigh University is proud to host 25 young leaders from 20 Sub-Saharan counties in summer, 2019.  Lehigh has developed a business institute composed of academic sessions, leadership sessions, cultural exchanges, site visits, community service and networking opportunities.
