The primary focus of this talk was the COVID-19 applications developed by Upstatement, a Boston-based digital design studio. However, Tito (Matt) Bottitta, son of Rotarians Barb & Lou, surprised last Friday's Zoom audience of Rotarians and guests with the breadth of development work Upstatement has done.  During its first 10+ years old, Upstatement has produced an impressive client list including MIT, Brigham Women's Hospital, PBS News Hour, SalesForce, the DC Holocaust Museum, and even Tito's Vodka, among dozens of others.

Tito started his talk by highlighting 3 COVID-19 technologies developed side by side with physicians, epidemiologists, nurses and dozens of other healthcare experts:
  • 1 -  COVID Protocols - mobile app that puts puts fast-changing best practice treatments in the hands of front-lines doctors treating COVID patients.
  • 2 -  Safe Paths - Apple Store COVID Tracing App that puts privacy first.
  • 3 -  Zero - a Yelp-like application for rating the "COVID safety & compliance" of local businesses.  The mobile phone app is now being rolled out for beta testing in Milwaukee, just in time for the Democratic convention.
