President Greg's message:
Happy New Year York East!  It is the halfway point of my year as President.  My request from you at the beginning of the Rotary Year was to “Do Rotary Different” and you have.  I appreciate your willingness to break away from your comfort zone and participate with a service project or switch up who you sit with at each weekly meeting.
I’m happy to report that we have made progress with members stepping up to serve in leadership positions.  Diane Yocum will serve as our Treasurer next Rotary Year and will assume the role of President Elect to serve as our President in ’26 – ’27.  Diana Papale will serve as chair of our Fundraising Committee focusing on raising money through our golf outing.  Speaking of the golf outing, we are looking to move the golf outing earlier in the year and hold it in June (June 17th).
We still have an opening on the board to serve as chair of Club Administration.

I’d like all of us to “Do Rotary Different” in the second half of this Rotary Year by focusing on our membership.  Last month’s newsletter stated that Kyle King gave notification that he was resigning as of the end of ’24.  I received an email from Roger Dick that he plans to resign at the same time due to the inability to participate as he did in the past.  These resignations will drop our membership below 50.
New members will create opportunities for future leaders and allow more people to participate in our current and future projects.  Can you think of a business or someone you know that works in the following fields…Engineering, Education, Construction, Law, Health Care, Health Insurance, Architecture, Dentistry, Senior Care, Auto Sales or Service, Athletic Club, Drug Store / Pharmaceutical, Public Utilities (water, gas, electric), Real Estate, Printing Services, Physical Therapy, Moving & Storage, Waste Disposal, Travel Agency or Transportation Agency.  We can come up with a longer list, but if you focus on this group to start it will be helpful.

If someone or a business pops into your mind, send a message to our membership chair Deb Klinedinst  dlkgdk@comcast.net or myself gkern@yorktreefamily.com

Let’s continue to “Do Rotary Different” as we start off the New Year.
