July 2024 Bulletin (Jun. 23, 2024)

Dear Fellow East York Rotarians,

As I begin this year as President of our club, I have to admit that I have not done a lot of preplanning…no goals, no budget, no major expectations. To be honest, I was hoping that someone else would have stepped up to say that they would serve as President during the ’24 – ’25 Rotary Year. When that didn’t happen by December of last year I decided I would serve but was not overly eager to be the “I’m totally committed”

type of President.

Now that my term has started, I realize that I need to take this position a little more seriously. Our club has a number of things to be proud of and I could slap a number of people on their back and say we are doing just fine as a club. The truth is that we have several items that we need to improve upon. I will address these issues at our transition meeting on July 16^th but if you are not able to attend, I’ll briefly share them here…Membership (not just quantity but quality), Leadership (within our club) & District

Event Participation.

This may be my year as President, but this is not my Rotary Club…it is ours. Together we need to seriously look at where our club was, where it is, and what we want it to look like in the future.

I’m looking forward to everyone’s effort to make our club a success.
