An interior designer, military veteran, business owner, and mom, Elizabeth champions conscious leadership and believes sustainable living doesn’t have to  be all-or-nothing—it starts with simple, intentional choices.

    Melissa Beaverson    “Explore York”

Melissa Beaverson is the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Explore York, where she leads strategic initiatives to promote York County as a premier travel destination.   With extensive experience in destination marketing, brand development, and community engagement, Melissa oversees integrated campaigns that highlight the county’s rich  history, vibrant downtowns, outdoor recreation, culinary experiences, and year-round events. 

In her overview, Melissa will share how Explore York strategically promotes tourism across the county through targeted marketing campaigns, digital storytelling, media partnerships, and   data-driven insights. She will discuss how the organization leverages branding, advertising, public relations, and community collaboration    to attract visitors, enhance the visitor experience, and generate economic impact for York County.

        Missy Thomas         “Taste2Tour”

Missy Thomas, founder Taste2Tour, York City’s premier walking food tour experience, will talk about how her business showcases the city’s  rich heritage and diverse culinary scene. She’ll share how curated gastronomic excursions,  local storytelling, and intimate experiences   with chefs and food artisans create memorable, customizable tours that celebrate the flavors  and culture of York City.

             Annelise Vuono             “Artist”

Annelise Vuono will share an overview of her artistic journey and creative process, highlighting her signature style of figurative elements set within abstract, emotionally rich environments, and bold color palettes. A   Central Pennsylvania native with a BFA from Pennsylvania College of Art and Design,  Annelise will also discuss her gallery work, published features, and passion for community engagement and arts advocacy.

Greetings Rotary Family,

During the month of March, we celebrate one of our seven areas of focus – water, sanitation and hygiene. When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families. 

Since 2013, The Rotary Foundation has invested more than $130 million in over 2000 projects worldwide. Through this investment, our volunteers of action have improved access to safely managed and basic WASH services to communities, schools and healthcare facilities, while protecting and conserving water resources.  For example, Rotary clubs partnered with local organizations to install a rainwater harvesting and distribution center for 4,000 people in Papua New Guinea. They also delivered training programs for women in the community and students in 35 schools.  Our efforts are improving lives and building strong communities.  Are you interested in getting more involved in supporting water, sanitation and hygiene projects?  Consider joining the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Rotary Action Group, www.wash-rag.org.

As I close, please remember to celebrate our Rotaractors during World Rotaract Week March 9-15.  As we continue to elevate Rotaract, they can now participate in Rotary grants, serve on district, RI and Rotary Foundation committees, set goals in Rotary Club Central and receive Rotary and Rotary Foundation awards.  Thank you to our Rotaractors for their service and making a difference locally and globally
