President Greg's message:
Thank you to everyone that provided names for our membership drive! We have amassed close to 70 names. Obtaining this number is fantastic, but now we need to follow through and reach out to this new wave of potential members for York East Rotary.
Our membership and public relations committees have been collaborating to put together all our means to reach out to this group. The goal is to make it as simple as possible to approach and invite these prospects to a special meeting on April 29th (the date has changed from April 15th). A spreadsheet has been created to fill in all names and contacts. Please go to the site below and add any open information. It will automatically save.
We would like you to reach out to anyone that you recommended and invite them to a few of our meetings. If they can’t make April 29th ask them to join us any week to gain a better understanding of our Club’s personality and the activities that we are involved in. A flyer is being created that you can email to your list of prospects. The goal is to gain 10 new members out of this endeavor & I know that collectively we can attain that benchmark.
Speaking of goals…our next golf outing will be on June 17th. A goal has been set to raise $20,000 at this year’s event. We received 21 applications for grants this year requesting a total of $158,625! These were all local requests. Obviously, there is a need in our area to assist and make things better in our community. Keep in mind that we also use these funds to support the Junior students that will attend RYLA, our Senior student scholarships and any national and international needs that our York East Foundation feels are deserving. Temps are about to turn for the better and golfers are chomping at the bit to get out there, so ask them if they will support our efforts and put together a 4-some or become a sponsor.
