What is YCDT?

Our unique program provides training to juniors and seniors in the areas of team building, assessing community needs, fundraising, grant writing/evaluation, public speaking, and volunteerism through a REAL experience.

This year's team is made up of 36 students from John Harris, SciTech, Central Dauphin and Bishop McDevitt High Schools. Participants identify a specific area of community focus, raise money toward providing a solution to that need and select a community organization to receive the YCDT grant funding and participant community service hours.

This year’s YCDT members chose to dedicate efforts on mental health issues facing local youth.  Requests for proposal were written and sent into the community with an astounding record of 22 returned requests. The team is currently in the process of fundraising in order to award a $5,000.00 grant to a nonprofit organization that assists local youth with their mental health needs.

In addition to their individual and team fundraising efforts, the YCDT students will request donations from Rotary members at Monday's meeting, so be sure to bring your checkbook or donate through the online payment platform using the link below.

*You may type a custom amount in the box that contains $0.00.
**To support the general YCDT fund, select "No specific team"
