“Dashing Through The Snow On a One-horse Open Sleigh…” What, what am I doing? Well, I am enjoying the snow falling out my window and singing one of my favorite holiday songs. What, you want me to report the minutes of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg Meeting on December 14? Hmmm, okay but can I sing this song at the same time?
“Bells on Bob-Tail Ring, making Spirits Bright.” Speaking of bright, greeter Deb Abel had members and guests smiling as they entered our Zoom and as they typed in and voted for their favorite Holiday cookie. For some reason the bell did not ring so Addeline added a Ding, Ding Ding and we skipped Club song so thankfully this scribe is adding a bit of musical entertainment.
“What Fun it is To Ride and Sing and Sleighing Song Tonight.” After a thoughtful invocation from Karen Good, President James added three notes---A plea to support the Joy To The Burg CD sales, note that today’s lunch money is going to support Bethesda Mission and a joyous shout out to all of our members for their support of Rotary.
“Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way.” “Terrific” Toni Mark provided an overview of the 4-Way speech contest allowing four Harrisburg Students 5-8 minutes today to wow the judges and aptly apply the 4-way test to a specific challenge in their life. (It was noted that a fifth chosen student from Cougar Academy was fighting with COVID-19 and could not attend today so prayers and thoughts with that young student for sure.)
“Oh What Fun it is To Ride In a One Horse Open Sleigh.” Attendees today were blessed and encouraged to hear from these four students over the next 40 minutes. One after another they impressed us with their energy and took us for a wonderful ride for sure.
Sing along with me now, “Jingle Bells Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way…” Our judges, Ginny Roth, Ski and special guest judge, Ana White returned and Toni appreciating all of their hard work during trying times, announced the placements and congratulated all for pushing themselves personally and for being motivated to apply the 4-way test.
With a Ho Ho Ho President James ended our meeting today wishing all fun in the snow and looking forward to seeing you all next Monday. “Dashing Through the Snow…”
