Volunteers Needed!
Robert Hostetter, Jr.
1937-2021

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of long-time Rotarian Bob Hostetter. Bob passed away Tuesday morning peacefully in Harrisburg Hospital. When more information is known about services and wishes of the family, we will pass it along.

Please keep Bob's family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days and weeks.

Respectfully,

Matthew Staub
RCH President 2021-2022
James H. Rowland, Jr. Esq.
1938-2021

Rotary has lost Jim Rowland Jr. a very interesting member of the bar of Dauphin County following
the law after his father. There were very few Black lawyers in the earlier days.
Jim did not hesitate to debate with a Rotary meeting speaker on the subject of treatment of minorities
if he felt that another position needed exposure. Jim was a tall, well built person and you heard him without a mike.
Sitting at his table provided a rye sense of humor. We will miss him.

Rotary Minutes July 26, 2021
Submitted by Andy Rebuck

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it is off to work we go!   What, what am I doing?   Well, just watching a show with the grandkids here.   Sure, I can write the minutes of our Rotary Meeting July 26th, but only if I can keep watching the show.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it is off to Rotary we go!   President Matt rang the bell at 12:04---he wasn’t Bashful inviting Joe Bedard to offer a thoughtful invocation and Marion C. Alexander to lead our Club song and then to invite PP Steve Feinour to introduce our three guests—welcome Heather McDonald, Jenny Black and Anne Marie Judson.

Certainly not Bashful and absolutely not Grumpy, President Matt noted our Pancake Committee meeting today, (note Pancake Breakfast tentatively October 9th!), opportunity to volunteer at Kipona Sept. 4, 5, 6, read the Roundup and register to attend our Rotary meetings and events please.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, we are going to eradicate polio!   Past District Governor John Kramb as smiling ear to ear and Happy to report on our 1979 promise to eradicate polio from the planet and how YTD we had only two positive cases worldwide!   John’s wit was spot on but he was serious in asking all of our members to go to myRotary.org and make a donation to End Polio so we can kill this darn disease by 2023.

No one was Sleepy as President Matt recognized in person both Susan Anthony and Ellen Brown and their receipt of the Community Service Award and Hanson Award when we were only ZOOMING meetings---everyone gave them a standing ovation!

Speaking of recognizing, Past District Governor John Anthony was on hand to shake hands with the 21 members of our Club receiving Paul Harris pins.   Our Club’s support of the Rotary International Foundation is nothing to Sneeze at.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it is off to Rotary we go!   This was an awesome meeting, that just kept getting better. President Matt presented Anne Marie Judson with an honorary membership in Club #23, and Beth Mihmet outlined the newly created Judson Fellowship Fund that will support one new member a year.   Our goal is to raise $23,000 in dedicated funds by donations to the Harrisburg Rotary Foundation.   To date we have already received four gifts and at the meeting both PP Bob Saline and Peggy Grove made generous gifts.
It was 12:54 and President Matt encouraged us to “Go and Serve to Change Lives.”
