The Rotary Club of Lynn welcomed 5 new members as part of the Club recently. Their induction was held during the meeting in which the incoming President was sworn in along with board members. The new members make up the new Satellite Club which will meet at 7:30am on Tuesday mornings at the Eastern Bank branch on Boston Street in Lynn. The first meeting was held on June 23, 2015 and served to help each new member get to know the others. The new members of the Lynn Rotary Club are: Drew Russo, Jeff Weeden, Mike Clancy, Harvey Rowe, and Jared Nicholson.
Drew Russo was nominated by President Ray Bastarache and has already been involved in Club Activities. He is currently the Executive Director of the Lynn Arts and the Lynn Museum. He has also worked in the community at St. Mary’s High School, and later on for Representative John Tierney.
Jeff Weeden was nominated by Steve Upton and has also already been involved in Club activities. He is currently a Planning and Development Specialist for the Lynn Housing Authority. He is interested in skiing and snowboarding, and has been involved in political activities within the community.
Mike Clancy is a senior consultant for IBM and was nominated by President Ray. He has been involved in the community through Wyoma Little League as a parent and a coach. His interests include running, coaching and his family. Mike often travels for IBM but wants to make Rotary meetings and be involved in Club activities.
Harvey Rowe is an attorney and public adjuster for Panakio Adjusters, LLC. He was nominated by President Ray and has been involved in community service projects for a number of years. Harvey has been on missionary trips to the Ozarks and to other areas of poverty in the USA. He has already joined in a Club activity and promises to be a great Rotarian.
Jared Nicholson is an attorney and Skadden Fellow. He is employed by Northeast Legal Aid and his work involves helping people of limited means with the legal aspects of setting up businesses. He also is interested in politics and is currently a candidate for School Committee in Lynn.
The Club is excited about our five new members and by the start of our new Satellite program. They all promise to become good Rotarians dedicated to “Service Above Self”.
