Brian DesRosiers, an attorney from DesRosiers & Tierney, LLC, and the son of club member Dave Richardson, addressed the Lynn Rotary Club recently, speaking about Estate Planning. The firm he represented counsels individuals and families in Estate, Business, Tax, Charitable and Long Term Care Planning. In his presentation he covered a wide area of subjects, including such areas as a Durable Power of Attorney, a Health Care Proxy, and a Last Will and Testament.
Brian also addressed the subject of Trusts, covering the benefits of having a trust, especially in the areas of Probate Avoidance, Estate Tax Savings, Posthumous Control of Assets, and Privacy.
Club members were very interested in his presentation, despite the fact that this area of financial planning is often very detailed and confusing to people. He gave members a lot to think about in their own circumstance. Brian did a great job in explaining these areas so that members could understand them better. He also talked about the fact that attorneys and other financial planners should understand these areas in great detail so as to offer the best advice to their clients as to when and how to make changes in their financial plans. Club members enjoyed his presentation and appreciated his willingness to take questions afterward.
On Tuesday, October 21, District 7930 will gather at the Sheraton Colonial Boston North Hotel and Conference Center in Wakefield, MA for exciting programs and new information about the Rotary Foundation and great information on increasing Membership.
Registration begins at 3:15 pm, with a plenary session and breakout sessions from 4:30 to 6:15pm. After the breakout sessions, there will be Fellowship and a dinner with a variety of speakers.

DISTRICT 7930 FOUNDATION & MEMBERSHIP FORUM On Tuesday, October 21, Rotarians will gather at the Sheraton Colonial Boston North Hotel and Conference Center at 1 Audubon Road in Wakefield, MA for exciting programs and new information about the Rotary Foundation and Membership.
Registration begins at 3:15 pm in the Conference Center lobby on the lower level. There will be a plenary in the main Ballroom at 4:00 pm followed by breakout sessions from 4:35 to 6:15 pm.
