Join Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking in a discussion of human trafficking globally and locally.  We will discuss our efforts to combat the crime in Colorado over the last 13 years and what you can do as a community member to contribute.

Kara Napolitano holds a Master’s of Arts degree in International Development with concentrations in International Human Rights Law and Refugee Protection from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Before completing her education she spent eight years working and volunteering in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, working mostly with education based NGOs in post-conflict areas.  It was during this time that she was introduced to the crime of human trafficking.  Upon returning to the US she decided to attempt to affect local change by working as a researcher with the Human Trafficking Center and participating in wage theft studies in partnership with El Centro Humanitario and the University of Denver. She has worked for Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking for almost three years in several roles, first as an intern, then a research specialist and grants manager, and now as Program Specialist.
