The New Members are spear-heading a club service project to show appreciation to the 130 Ambulance Dispatch workers of AHS. This group deploys all ground and air ambulances in Central Alberta. Like many AHS workers, they are overwhelmed and struggling. Many companies have generously reached out to hospital frontline staff, and this group has gone unnoticed.
Our project? To gather donated goods (outlined below) to bring them cheer and show up on 2 separate occasions to give them their "treat bag."
Our list of desired goods we would like donated:
-pen (these were cut out of their budget a couple years ago) - covered in part by Jean Walrond & organization
-sticky notes (these were cut out of their budget a couple years ago) - covered in part of Dawn Harsch & company
-microwave popcorn
-gum
-chocolate bars
-candy
-hot chocolate sachets
-water bottles - covered by Dawn Harsch & company
-small gift certificates (coffee, ice cream stores, etc)
Our call to action:
You could help us in any of the 4 ways:
consider donating financially to the project (we have $100 committed already from members)
connect us with an individual/business who is willing to donate some of the items on the list
attend the "treat bag" stuffing party (hosted by Patrick Newman, date TBA)
show up in-person on one of two dates to deliver the treat bags and offer a round of applause for the staff on shift change (dates TBA - aim by end of October)
Please let us know if and how you could contribute to the project. We appreciate your resources, connections, and time to make this a big success.
