Speaker: This week our club's speaker was Lyle Johnson, Rotary Club of Sherwood Park President and a representative of the Emmanuel Foundation. The Emmanuel Foundation is an organization that shares Canada’s surplus of medical and school equipment with other developing countries to foster sustainable community change and development. So far it has had a huge impact on building relationships with other communities and continues to expand after their playground relocation initiative (Play It Forward) has increased school engagement and children’s development. The Emmanuel Foundation makes achieving international projects more accessible for Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs. The foundation is hoping to strengthen their ability to ship supplies, find more donated space, and is asking for administrative volunteers as well as volunteers’ support for work projects and delivery.
