Rotary Whyte Avenue is Moving Online!

To help ensure we as a club can continue to have Rotary fun while still doing our part to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus in our community, Rotary Whyte Avenue is having our club meetings online for the month of April!  Our first online meeting will be on April 7th when Laura Cunningham-Shpeley from the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues joins us to talk about the EFCL!

Watch your email inbox, Whyte Ave Rotary social media, and our website as we will share the web links and call-in information so you can take part in these meetings online! We will decide whether we continue to have online meetings on a monthly basis.

We are also organizing virtual social events so we can still socialize while physical distancing!  Our first event is this Friday - click here to learn more.

Rotary Whyte Avenue Is Cost-Matching Donations To Edmonton's Food Bank Up To $500

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Edmonton's Food Bank needs support now more than ever.

Rotary Whyte Avenue has been a longtime supporter of Edmonton's Food Bank. To help this community partner continue to provide food items and services for Edmontonians in need, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue is cost-matching monetary donations to Edmonton's Food Bank up to $500! 

To have your donation cost-matched by the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue, email the club President at kggmcleod@hotmaill.com a confirmation of your donation (such as the email confirmation or a screen shot of the confirmation) and the club will cost match up to a total of $500!

Join Our Virtual Happy Hour This Friday!
 

To help us fight away the physical distancing blues, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue is holding an online happy hour social and you're invited!

The online happy hour starts with President Elect Stan demonstrating how to make a gin sour! If you want to join along, here are the ingredients:

2 oz gin
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz simple syrup (or a teaspoon of sugar)
3/4 oz pasteurized egg whites (the kind in the carton)

We will then spend the hour catching up, checking-in, and sharing our favourite movie recommendations (good movies are a must have during a quarantine!).

Our Rotary club has been meeting on Whyte Avenue for over 10 years and now our friends at Rooster Cafe & Kitchen need a little support to get through these tough times.
 
Please consider ordering take-out today (Friday) until 3p, Saturday 8a-4p, and Sunday 9a-4PM. 
 
They are offering a 20% discount for all take-out orders made directly through them at the restaurant.

Helping Out With Our Melcor Meals But Need Some Containers? Marilyn To The Rescue!

 

Our amazing club is making meals for the the folks living at Melcor Village, who are supported by the Skills Society. Thank you to all who signed up to take part!

If you need any containers for your donated meals, ADG and great club member Marilyn has offered to provide some containers.

Provide Input Into Our 2020 Member Classification Study!
 

 

Our club is going to conduct a classification study of members’ occupations and you can help!  

Classification studies help clubs clearly see which professions are represented in our club, what skills and expertise are present, and where there are potential gaps that we can work on. They also help align and increase membership with the mix of businesses and professions in our community.
