Rotary Canada supports the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, recognizing the painful history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous peoples.
Members are encouraged to learn about Indigenous culture, foster relationships with Indigenous communities, and support initiatives focused on truth and reconciliation.
October marks the start of the member-driven organizational format for meetings this year. Each month, a different member will arrange guest speakers and activities related to a non-profit, volunteer or charity group that is an important cause for them.
Elizabeth will kick off things October 7th with a presentation by the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection. The NASAP ensures that more animals in the Edmonton area find loving and permanent homes. The organization helps provide medical attention & food, a network of foster homes, and many other initiatives to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable animals.

Autism Edmonton Mixer this Week
54% of Canadians have a disability or are close to someone with a disability.
When surveyed 74% of men and 86% of women (25 to 40 years old) said that they consider a company’s policies on diversity before accepting a position.
Autism Edmonton is hosting their DEAM Mixer, taking place October 3 from 11 am – 3 pm, at 10425 84 Ave. This will be a great opportunity to grow your knowledge of inclusive employment by speaking to neurodivergent job seekers directly. There will be a panel discussion featuring some successful program participants, speaking to their journeys and how their employers have best supported them.
