ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT!!!
Whyte Avenue Rotary is holding an online 50/50 raffle in support of Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS). YESS has been one of our community partners since our club was chartered over ten years ago.

YESS provides immediate and low-barrier overnight and day shelter, temporary supportive housing, and individualized wrap-around supports for young people aged 15–24. YESS works collaboratively within a network of care focused on the prevention of youth homelessness by providing youth with the necessary supports to stabilize their housing, improve their wellbeing, build life skills, connect with community, and avoid re-entry into homelessness. Funds raised from this 50/50 will help support the valuable work that YESS does.

Celebrating National Volunteer Week
April 18-24th was national volunteer week and our club highlighted a couple of our amazing members. It is inspiring to hear how volunteering with Rotary has impacted their lives in such a positive way. Thanks for all you do for our club and the community Kristin, Mike, Kathy, and James.

Foundation Moment

What can Your $500 Contribution to The Rotary Foundation Do?

Your $500 contribution to The Rotary Foundation can help provide a watch repair business for six disabled workers in the Philippines, purchase safety equipment for a boat providing public health services to isolated river villages in Peru, provide prosthetic limbs for 12 disabled individuals in Cambodia, or buy five small sewing businesses to give poor mothers in Mexico a better ability to lead self-sufficient lives.

Will you commit today to donating $500 per year to The Rotary Foundation and start making a difference in people’s lives?

Rotary Schedule at a Glance

April 27
This week our guest speaker is Linda Hoang and she is coming to talk to us about the Edmonton International Cat Festival, which is the only festival of its kind in Alberta, and was the first festival of its kind in Canada when it began in 2014. Cat Fest brings together cat lovers to celebrate cats and cat culture, while raising money and awareness on rescues to help cats in need!
This should be a purr-fect meeting because cats are so paw-pular, so I hope you are able to purr-ticipate. Just paw the link below to join.
