Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 9th for Whyte Avenue Rotary's social outing to the Edmonton Riverhawks game. The Riverhawks will be playing the Victoria HarbourCats - a rematch following Edmonton's defeat of them last August that took our team to the North Division Championship final. June 9th is also the Riverhawks Strike Out Cancer Night, in support of the Kids With Cancer Society. Stay tuned for more information on what is sure to be a fun and exciting night of fellowship.
Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE)
Nicole Chang of ACEE presented to members and outlined their purpose in advancing environmental education in the province, with a focus on empowering young people to become environmental stewards. The charity has become a trusted resource to support educators and youth as well as collaborate for positive change in our communities. ACEE publishes research and teaching materials aligned with the Alberta Curriculum, and oversees field trips, classroom, and school programs to help students understand environmental issues and take action to create a more sustainable future.
