Leadership Team Planning Ahead

Let's get planning! The Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue leadership team took time this week to get together online.

The club executive and chairs discussed how the COVID-19 outbreak has impacted the club and the response to date. The team agreed that the club is doing a lot to keep active and remain people of action in support of the Edmonton community, including everything from: fundraising; creating new forms of physical distancing volunteering activities; and moving meetings online so that we can keep enjoying Rotary safely during the outbreak.

The leadership team also talked about the next Rotary year, which begins in July. Incoming President Stan is already doing an amazing job assembling the new leadership team and planning an exciting year ahead. Looking forward to the next Rotary year already!

Thank you everyone one leading a committee or supporting the fantastic work of this club!

Our Next Online Happy Hour Is This Friday!

So many smiles (and drinks) were made at the last online social, the Rotary Club of Edmonton Whyte Avenue is holding another online happy hour!  Let's fight the physical distancing blues together!

Our President Elect / Club Bartender Stan B is demonstrating how to make another drink: this time, an old fashioned!

If you want to join along, here are the ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz of bourbon (or rye, or blended whisky, or single-malt Scotch)
-1/3 oz simple syrup (or a sugar cube or 1 teaspoon of sugar)
-2 dashes of Angostura bitters
-Build in the cocktail glass over a large ice cube
-Garnish with slice of orange and/or maraschino cherry

We will then spend the hour catching up, checking-in, and chatting away.  You can join us online by logging in or calling at 7PM on Friday here:

As always, it's BYOB (though you don't have to bring a drink to join the fun, of course).

Hope to see you all there!
