Our speakers this past week were Silas de Lange and Nicole Ducherer, who we sponsored to attend the latest Adventures in Agriculture in Regina. The students described the experience as life changing and, along with their parents, thanked the club for the opportunity.
They learned about agriculture related finances, innovation, technology, and sustainability. Silas and Nicole visited many venues, including a tour of a lentil production facility (Saskatchewan supplies almost 2 million tonnes annually worldwide), a farm equipment plant, and the Canadian Western Agribition - one of the largest agriculture shows in the country. They also emphasized the many connections and friendships made along the way.
Both students come from farming families in the Edmonton Region. Adventures in Agriculture is an annual event organized and hosted by the Regina Eastview Rotary club and attracts students from across Canada.
