Each month, our FUN FEARLESS & FOCUSED Rotary club will be doing a service event.
For the month of October, we will be joining Rotarians, and friends of Rotary, from across the District to build beds for kids. Our goal is 400 beds! Everyone is welcome so bring your friends and family members!
“Vulnerable women and children have fled the war in Ukraine and are coming to Canada and our District. Many settlement services are assisting their temporary placement, however there is a shortage of beds and mattresses.
A partnership with Catholic Social Services to vet the most in need, Ukrianian Canadian Social Services to offer tax receipts for financial contributions and suppliers Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Edmonton Beds is enabling D5370 to fill this gap. Our goal - 400 beds.
Options
1) contribute to cover the costs of the beds - ucss@shaw.ca for tax receipt.
2) volunteer to build a child's bed - see Oct 22 sign up at Dow Ft. Saskatchewan location
3) Fill a Van - collect new pillows, bedding, quilts and blankets - location and dates being set for Oct and November.
We have scheduled a kids bed building on Oct 22, 2022. To register, please contact Kelly Baker at kellybaker@edmontonnortheast.org.
Volunteers will be sent a link to a waiver and additional details about the event.
Please note you do not have to be a Rotarian to help with this project, so if you know of people who like to give back, please forward this on.”

After a two-year hiatus, our annual District Fall Assembly is back! With the theme Inspiration – Education – Recognition, we will once again gather both in person and virtually on Saturday, November 26 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Château Nova Yellowhead Hotel, 13920 Yellowhead Trail in Edmonton.
The Assembly is open to all Rotarians, but we highly encourage Presidents-elect and their leadership teams to attend as part of PETS training. Registration fees are free for Presidents-elect, (President-elect fees are covered through your club's PETS Training contribution), $60 for Rotarians attending in person and $25 for online registration. Please note that gaming revenue can be used for training purposes.
As World Polio Day approaches, we’re getting ready to amplify our message about eradicating polio to protect the world’s children from this devastating disease.
We’ve made tremendous progress so far, and now’s the time to intensify our fight to make polio the second human disease ever to be eradicated. In 2020, the World Health Organization’s African region was certified free of wild poliovirus, showing that eradication is possible even in very difficult circumstances.
The wild poliovirus remains endemic in just two countries — Afghanistan and Pakistan— but as long as polio exists anywhere, it remains a threat everywhere. So let’s use World Polio Day to advocate for the support we need to end polio in countries where children are still as risk.
Get involved Take action this World Polio Day by hosting virtual and community events, creating fundraisers, and sharing posts about the importance of polio eradication on social media.
Use the World Polio Day Toolkit to find resources and tips for planning activities and promoting a polio-free world.
Register your club’s participation in World Polio Day to show how your club is taking action to eradicate polio. If you register your events, fundraisers, and promotions by 13 October, you’ll get early access to Rotary’s World Polio Day Global Update, one week before the program airs on 24 October on Rotary’s Facebook page and endpolio.org.
Use Raise for Rotary to start a World Polio Day online fundraiser. All contributions will go to the PolioPlus Fund. The top Raise for Rotary World Polio Day 2022 fundraisers will be featured on My Rotary.

The auction will be live from Friday, November 18 to Friday, December 2.
